Bangladesh's spin bowling coach Rangana Herath feels that having a camp in Australia before the ICC T20 World Cup later this year will help them prepare better for the showpiece event. Chandika Hathurusingha, the former head coach of the national side, had convinced the board to send the team to Australia much before the ICC World Cup in 2015. They had flown in two weeks before the global event and held an intense training camp, which perhaps served as one of the reasons for Bangladesh to reach the quarterfinals.

"Before T20 World Cup, we have a few games. At the same time, if we have more preparation before the World Cup in Australia that's going to be very important. I'm sure BCB will be working towards it," Herath told reporters on Friday (March 4).

Meanwhile, Herath insisted that they are not looking too far ahead and will look to seal the two-match T20I series against Afghanistan when the two sides lock horns at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on March 5. While Bangladesh ended their losing streak - which lasted for eight matches - with a 61-run victory in the opening T20I, Herath insisted the job is only half done.
